Emporium Host
Jim Spudowski
International shape artist and life long lover of Jazz Jim Spudowski has been kind enough to lend his support to Emporium as host.
Jim is a resident of Fresno California and divides his time working on his shape art and exhibiting his work all over the world.
Recently Jim got back together with World renowned jazz pianist Christoph Piscine to Recreate live their 1985 performance art piece Circle In The Square at Februarys Emporium. Unfortunately the strain was too much for Jim and he is now resting under the supervision of a number of mental health specialists.
The founders
Founders and organisers Simon Capes, an actor, and Robin Spalding, a singer-songwriter, first met whilst performing at an open mic night in Bath and felt there was not enough mixing of styles and ideas, but there was a lot of talent around. Our main aim was to create a place where every type of art form is happening. Somewhere you could see quality talent, and get a whole new experience.”
“That’s when we thought of Emporium. We wanted to see art exhibits, go to performances of new bands and watch interesting short films, without having to search long and hard to find out what’s going on. We wanted to see all these things in one place, but it didn’t exist. The good news is it exists now
